Dr. Daonian Liu is responsible for managing the operations of the Educational Technology Department, administering the WebCT course management system, providing faculty and students with training, counseling, and support in the area of educational technology and educational research, as well as acquiring and implementing classroom technology.

Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before she came to Alvernia College in August 2003, she had worked for six years as an educational technologist with the University of Kansas Medical Center. She is well-versed in web instructional design and development as well as in applying learning theories and instructional design principles to the integration of information technology into teaching and learning. She has years of experience with data-driven web application design and development as well as interactive multimedia application design and development.

In addition to her experience in Instructional Technology, Dr. Liu taught at college and university level for many years. She is a member of the part-time teaching staff at Alvernia College.

Dr. Liu's research interest and experience has been in distance education, adult learning, and instructional design.
