Nursing Skills Resource Lab Director and Instructor

Summary of Duties:

Nursing Resource Center Director works in congruence with the Nursing Faculty to create and maintain state-of-the-art clinical facilities for the health professions.
• Collaborate with faculty to integrate simulation technology in nursing courses across the curriculum.
• Collaborate with course faculty to plan clinical laboratory learning experiences.
• Identify at-risk nursing students at an early level and prescribe developmental interventions to improve learning.
• Participate in laboratory design and improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty to provide remediation of skills.
• Serve as administrator for the national benchmarking service, ERI (Educational Resources, Inc.).
• Facilitate interdisciplinary and community use of NRC.
• Serve as Library Liaison for media and learning technology.
• Serve on College and Nursing Department Committees.
• Serve as a consultant to the nursing faculty and IT Department for health care technology needs.
• Supervise lab assistants.
• Supervise work-study and/or graduate assistant students.
• Other duties as required.
• Promote Franciscan ideals and adherence to the Mission of the College

Position Requirements:

• Masters of Science in Nursing (or be enrolled in MSN program).
• Current RN License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Knowledge of nursing education clinical pedagogy is essential.
• Proficiency in the application of health care technology and simulation pedagogies.
• Experience in using simulation in nursing education or staff development.

Other Preferred Requirements:

• Higher education teaching experience.
• Healthcare informatics competencies.
• Managerial/supervisory experience.
