Common Commencement Questions

No additional fee for tickets or attire.  All graduating students will be assessed a Graduation fee directly to their student account during their final semester.  Account payments can be made online or in person at myAlvernia or Student Billing Office (FH 200/201).

Cap & Gown:
All cap and gown orders will be filled at the Grad Finale Event- all sizes will be available – NO need to PRE-ORDER!

Grad Finale:
This is where you will pick up your cap & gown, tickets, as well as take care of any Alvernia business (i.e. billing/financial aid, etc.)

Dates of Grad Finale:
Philadelphia Campus – Monday, April 28th from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Schuylkill Campus – Tuesday, April 29th from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Main Campus – Wednesday, April 30th - 2nd floor Student Center - 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Each student will receive twelve (12) tickets. Additional tickets will be distributed after all Grad Finales are completed.

Graduation Survey:
Each student is asked to complete the graduation survey and bring a copy of the verification page to the Grad Finale event.

Link to Graduation Survey: OR go to, select “Current Students” (at bottom of page), click on graduation tab on left side and then click on box “Seniors Don’t Miss Out on Your Cap and Gown.” Follow instructions and when you reach the end, please print out the verification page that shows your name and thanks you for completing the survey. This is the sheet that you will bring to the Grad Finale in order to get your tickets.

Class Rings & Announcements:
Class rings and announcements will be available on-line through the bookstore at, or for purchase at the Grad Finale on Wednesday, April 30th.

You are notified by mail when your diploma is available for pick up in the Registrar’s Office. This typically takes about 6-8 weeks after completion of your courses.

Honors status is based on your cumulative grade point average as the end of Mod 3 for undergraduate students only. You are notified of this status and receive your honor cords at Honors Convocation. Please keep in mind that your honor status on your diploma and final transcripts is based on your final cumulative grade point average (after all spring grades are computed).
