Business Administration

Alvernia College is a Catholic, Franciscan college dedicated to the ideals of professional and community service, and personal fulfillment. Therefore, Alvernia's business programs examine the contemporary business world from both practical and ethical standpoints. Business majors combine classroom learning with real world knowledge. This broad-based approach prepares each Alvernia business major to succeed professionally by developing the supervisory and managerial skills necessary for career advancement. The Alvernia business faculty have solid academic qualifications and years of business experience. They are aware of the latest trends and issues in the business world and incorporate these in their class lectures.

Business administration is a major for students with an interest in the complexities of the world of business. Designed for the generalist, a business administration program equips a student to serve as a decision-maker in commerce of all kinds. A review of the curriculum will reveal study in accounting, management issues and practices, human resources, marketing and labor relations. Among the most flexible majors, the skills learned in business administration can be teamed with interests, passions, experiences or locale.
