Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding Ceremony
SUNDAY, Decemebr 16, 2007 at 12:00 PM
Baccalaureate is a time when students can reflect spiritually on their academic achievements. Since we are a Catholic Institution, Alvernia College traditionally celebrates a Catholic Mass at this time. Graduates and families of all faiths are encouraged and welcome to participate.
The Hooding Ceremony is when all graduates will have a hood placed over their shoulders by a member of the faculty to signify the graduates’ advancement within the academic community. The Hood is a garment that is worn over the shoulders that by its colors, placement and material symbolizes the wearer’s rank and academic achievements.
