Student Alumni Association

The Alvernia College Student Alumni Association (SAA) was founded under the direction of the Alvernia College Alumni Association for the purpose of serving as a link between prospective students, students, alumni, administration, faculty, and friends of Alvernia.

Joining SAA gives students the opportunity to meet area alumni, assist in keeping alumni in contact with Alvernia and also enables students to make contacts that can be helpful in future employment.

Activities

The SAA is active in Alumni events including Reunion Day, various alumni gatherings both on and off campus and several fund-raisers. We also sponsor the Adopt-A-Spot program where volunteers clean up Angelica Park, located next to the campus.

We attend national conferences each year where ideas are shared and new ways to link alumni with students are learned. Last years conference was held at the University of Nevada and next years conference is scheduled for Notre Dame.

Membership

The advisor to the organization is Darlene Berk, director of alumni affairs and our current executive board is composed of Peggy Laffery '01 (president),  (vice-president) and (secretary/treasurer).
