What can I do with a major in Psychology ?

The field of psychology is the science concerned with the study of individual behavior. The psychology major prepares students to study behavior and mental processes within an applied framework and typically encompasses both research and practice. This major offers an environment that fosters the development of critical thinking skills for psychology majors and other students interested in psychological processes.

In accordance with the Mission Statement of Alvernia College, students are encouraged to integrate psychological research and theories with ethical practice and moral responsibility. With an emphasis on human dignity, the department instills in students the concept of service to diverse populations.
