Chemistry: Programs of specialization in chemistry
provide opportunities and guided experiences through
which the student may be introduced to the basic knowledge
and skills essential to pursue careers in industrial
and governmental research, medical technology, teaching
in secondary schools, and professional careers.
Biochemistry: Biochemistry is specially designed
as an interdisciplinary program for students with a
strong interest in biology and chemistry. The program
will prepare a biochemistry major to enter graduate
school in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology or
physiology; give adequate preparation for entering
a professional school of medicine, dentistry, or optometry;
and prepare the student for industry in chemical or
pharmaceutical areas.
