Bio
Joanna R. Pressimone started working at Alvernia
College in July, 2006. As a campus minister, she is responsible
for most of the Spiritual Life programming on campus; that
includes everything from Sunday Mass to weekend retreats
to interfaith prayer services to Baccalaureate and beyond!
She is a huge fan of ecumenism and strives to make everyone
feel welcome in campus ministry. She also loves the opportunities
to collaborate with Kristen (the Director of Campus Ministry)
on service and social justice programs.
Jo completed her BA in Religious Studies at Saint Michael’s
College, Vermont. While there, she was an RA for 3 years,
a devoted member and officer of the college chorale and chamber
singers, a performer in the improv troupe –{Rough Edges>,
a member of the co-ed a capella group “Sleepless Knights”,
a player in main stage theater productions, a student leader
on Alternative Break trips to Selma, AL and Baltimore, MD,
among other things. She also was very involved with campus
ministry (surprised?), serving on retreat teams and as a
Eucharistic minister/altar server at Mass. She was also known
to take the occasional class.
Jo loves many things, including but not limited to barbecue
sauce, watching movies, singing show tunes, hanging out with
her fam-damily, John Adams (the late great president), slinkies,
Pope John Paul II, rocking chairs, flexible flyer sleds and
hugs.
