Samuel T. Frankhouser, Associate Dean of Students and Chief Judicial
Officer, and Dolores Bertoti, Dean of Academic Advancement, present
an information session where students and parents alike will hear
about ways to successfully “navigate the waters” of the
first year of college. |

Students and Parents say Goodbye (Physical
Education Center)
Our newest students will be heading off to their first official class
of the semester. We encourage you to take this opportunity to say
farewell. At the conclusion of the next sessions, parents will depart
campus and students will attend either the Resident Student or Commuter
Student Meeting. |

Introduction to First-Year Seminar (Assigned
Classrooms)
Students, meet your First-Year Seminar professor and classmates in your
first mandatory class meeting. Classrooms will be announced during the
Opening Session. OWLs will lead First-Year Seminar students to their assigned
classrooms. |
Transfer Student Meeting
Transfer students will meet separately. OWLs will lead transfer students
to their assigned meeting room. |
Parent Meeting with Administration (Physical Education
Center)
Members of the College’s Administrative team would like to
take this opportunity to meet and speak directly with the parents.
Parents, please do not leave this session with unanswered questions.

This is your opportunity to meet with the Residence Life staff and
other students residing within your residence hall. Here you will
learn all about living on campus. |
Commuter Student Meeting and Bingo (Bernardine
Hall Lounge)
Learn the “ins and outs” of being a Commuter, and win
some great prizes while you are at it. Prizes to include: a gas card,
free car washes, book store gift certificate, free oil change, and
many more. |

New Student Orientation Opening Picnic
& Carnival Celebration (Dining Hall and Resident Student
Parking Lot A)
Join your student leaders for a picnic and carnival celebration. Dinner
will be served in the Dining Hall from 6:00 p.m. through 7:30 p.m.
The carnival activities will be available until 10:00 p.m. Relax with
your new friends by the Tiki Bar (nonalcoholic drinks only) while the
DJ spins some tunes and you take your turn at several fun events, volleyball,
and t-shirt tye-dying. Bring along your white Orientation t-Shirt to
tye-dye!!! |
