What's Up?

April 16, 2002 -- These daffodils are from our "Fields of Gold", the recurring memorial for those who perished on 9-11-01. Students, Faculty and Staff planted the bulbs this past fall.

May 9, 2002 -- Carla Orris and Missy Leib received a small grant from Pennsylvania Campus Compact, to create "Learning Dolls" for homeless children. They recruited other students to help them with the sewing, and then went to the Reading-Berks Emergency Shelter and presented the dolls to 3 and 4 year olds and their mothers. They taught the mothers how to play games with their children using the dolls. The games will help the children learn colors, numbrs, parts of the body, and help refine their small motor skills.
