Alvernia University partners with Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest to present The Hot Club of Philadelphia, an acoustic ensemble dedicated to playing “Gypsy Jazz,” a style pioneered by French guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli in the 1930s. The group has performed in a wide range of venues including The Kimmel Center's PIFA Festival, The World Café Live, Sellersville Theater, Musikfest-Bethlehem, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Allentown Jazz Festival, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
