Location

The Archives are located in the second floor of the Dr. Frank A. Franco Library. They are generally accessible by appointment from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Contact the College Archivist at 610-796-8351 to schedule an appointment.

Rules for Use

Materials housed in the College Archives are rare, sometimes unique records and require special care. Researchers must handle material carefully in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • Items may not be removed from the library. Exceptions may be made for special circumstances, as determined by the College Archivist.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted while using archival materials.
  • Materials must be handled with care. Documents may not be written on or otherwise damaged. Individual items must be returned to their original location and filling order.
  • Pencils only may be used when researching materials from the archives collection.
  • Limited amounts of material may be photocopied if the physical condition of the item permits and if copyright restrictions are not violated.
    • Copy costs:
      • Faculty, staff and students of Alvernia College: free
      • Others: 10 cents per page
