As a member of the Alvernia alumni community, you are entitled to many benefits—tuition and bookstore discounts, travel packages, sporting events, and alumni get-togethers. In addition to a robust calendar of events, the University also seeks alumni participation philanthropically through the Alvernia Fund and Values & Vision: The Alvernia 50th Anniversary Campaign which to date has raised more than $17 million against a goal of $27 million. Alvernia opens new facility in Schuylkill County
11/12/2009In a time when many are cutting back, Alvernia University has invested in the Schuylkill County area, with a new 10,400 square foot facility in the Cressona Mall. A news conference and ribbon cutting was held Thursday, Nov.12, at 11 a.m., followed by tours of the facility.

Claire Fleming '77
has been active her whole life in her community. That community includes her family, her Church and her many volunteer commitments. That community also includes Alvernia University who Claire credits with giving her an opportunity to get an education when there were not many opportunities available for a nontraditional student.
Claire is now retired from a successful banking career and she gives back to her community in many ways. At Alvernia, Claire has set up her legacy to profoundly improve the intellectual lives of future Alvernia students. Claire is a member of the St. Clare Legacy Society.
The St. Clare Society was established in 2001 to honor those who have ensured the future of the University by naming Alvernia in their will or in other ways making it part of their estate plans. Comprehensive Campaign. The Board of Trustees comprises forty volunteers—campus, community, congregational, and business leaders—devoted to advancing the institution.
