Overnight Visits
The Alvernia admissions staff and campus community realize the importance of the overnight visit as a part of the college selection process. Plan an overnight visit to the Alvernia campus and find out what it’s like to be a “real” college student. During your overnight stay, you’ll have the opportunity to attend classes, check out student activities in the student center, meet and make friends with current students, eat in the dining hall and spend the night in a residence hall with your host student. Who knows, you might even meet your future roommate! This experience will allow you to view campus life at Alvernia firsthand and enable you to uncover all that Alvernia College has to offer.
Follow these simple steps to schedule your personalized overnight visit to Alvernia College...
1. To Request a Visit
Contact the Office of Admissions at 1-610-568-1530 (or 1-888-ALVERNIA) or email your request to admissions@alvernia.edu at least two weeks prior to your anticipated visit. You can also register online. Let us know if you are interested in meeting with coaches or professors during your visit.
Although our hosts are always excited about prospective students visiting Alvernia, we must keep in mind that they are volunteers and we have to adapt to their schedules with regard to mid-terms, finals, and college vacations.
2. Your Confirmation
- You will receive a confirmation packet which includes a map of campus, directions to the College, and what you will need to bring with you for your visit. Call or email the Office of Admissions if you find that you are unable to attend.
3. Your Arrival
Overnight students should report to the Crusader Café in the Student Center at 4:30pm for a welcome session and to meet with the host student. (If you need to arrive at a later time, call or email us to make other arrangements.)

On February 11, 2008 Alvernia College was named to the 2007 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, launched in 2006, recognizes colleges and universities nationwide that support innovative and effective community service and service-learning programs.
The Honor Roll's Presidential Award, given each year to only a handful of institutions, is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement.
