Hi everyone! My name is Alexis (Alex) Dominguez and I am a Bilingual Undergraduate Admissions counselor fluent in Spanish and English. I am originally from Reading, PA and a proud graduate of Reading Senior High School. After high school as an undergraduate student I moved around quite a bit, transferring twice and attending three different institutions - starting at Shippensburg University followed by West Chester University, and ending with Ursinus College where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with minors in International Relations and Education.
During my time at Ursinus I was a Spanish tutor for fellow classmates, a youth tutor for the America Reads program tutoring children of inner city schools, and a Resident Advisor for freshman students. During my senior year I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Alicante, so technically that is my fourth school as an undergrad. It was a combination of these experiences, including going through the application process a few times, where I gained a passion to help students in any way that I can, especially high school students making the transition to college. Now, as a counselor for Alvernia, I hope I can do just that. Alvernia University is an institution with a lot to offer and I hope to get the opportunity to show you just how much.
I look forward to meeting and working with prospective students and if you are in the following counties then I am your go-to guy:
PA – York, Adams
Maryland – Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Montgomery
Delaware – New Castle
