Hey Everyone! This week has been sooo hectic, even though my soccer season has sadly ended; I still manage to keep busy. We lost our last game to Albright in the last minutes of double overtime. Our overall record was the best yet, 7 wins, 7 losses, and 2 ties. I can't wait until next year to improve our record even more. Being an Occupational Therapy major, one of my favorite classes this year is Activity Analysis. In this class, taught by Dr. Cameron, we play games outside (volleyball, kickball, and soccer), draw with chalk, and paint with watercolors. This class is one of my favorites just because it makes all my friends who aren't OTs sooo jealous. They see us "playing" outside and don't understand how it is REAL class. I explain to them that in being an OT, playing will be part of my job. Especially with children, playing games or playing with other children, is their "main occupation". After each activity there is plenty of work that goes along with it, we analyze every little movement that went on in order to complete the task. We figure out what type of muscles, different grasps, different maneuvers etc. go into performing that task successfully. It is very tedious but in the long run will be worth it when helping clients. Even though it is a very detailed class, its one of my most interesting this semester. :)
love, Danielle
