Field Work and Job Options

Field Education Program
The Field Education Component is a major sequence which is incorporated into the curriculum of the Social Work major. It provides the student with the chance to work 500 hours in Social Services agencies prior to graduation. This provides each student with "hands-on" learning and helps to shape each student professionally while developing.

Job Opportunities
The majority of graduating students that enter into the work force are offered employment by at least one of their interning agencies or a related affiliate. Alvernia College also offers the Social Work student several opportunities through college employment, seasonal internships, career planning, and non-profit programs.
