Biography:

Anne Fink is a registered nurse who has worked in a variety of settings, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, home care/hospice, and college health. A faculty member at Alvernia University since 2005, Anne previously taught nursing in all nursing program types: licensed practical nursing, diploma, associate degree, and baccalaureate degree programs. She has also worked as a professional trainer in clinical informatics within the international corporate setting and received a number of awards in this position.  

At Alvernia, Anne has taught NUR 201 – Foundations of Professional Nursing I, NUR 205 – Foundations of Professional Nursing II, and has supervised students for clinical in obstetrical and medical/surgical nursing settings.  

Anne’s current research project is an examination of Puerto Rican new mothers’ self-reports of postpartum infant and self-care knowledge acquisition.  Anne has a publication pending in the Journal of Transcultural Nursing concerning the topic of health disparities. Other areas of professional interest include nursing informatics, environmental health, evaluation measures, and the use of technology in education. Anne has experience with qualitative data analysis software, video conferencing and distance learning software, learning management software, test generation and analysis software, and clinical information systems. She has also served as an item writer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing which develop the NCLEX-RN nursing licensure examination. She has presented at local and regional nursing conferences.           

Anne is a member of the following professional organizations: The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses, the National League for Nursing, and the American Association of University Professors. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Pennsylvania League for Nursing.
