  • Service Learning Action Committee – defining the role of service in the undergraduate curriculum
  • Assessing and teaching dispositions of caring through community service – research project

Council for Exceptional Children is an international professional organization dedicated to knowledge and advocacy for persons with disabilities.  Our Alvernia Student CEC is involved in numerous community service activities in which children with disabilities interact with college students in recreational and family-support activities, and members have attended state and national CEC conferences in prior years.

  • Aaron’s Acres recreational program for children with disabilities – coordination of service learning, board of directors member
  • Departmental leadership in Special Education program revisions required by Pennsylvania Department of Education Committee member for student researchers
