Beginning in Summer 2013, the courses include:
MED 505: Introduction to Individuals with Special Needs (Summer - Required first course)
MED 515: Differentiated Instruction in Inclusive Classrooms (Fall)
MED 535: Collaboration and Legal Issues in Special Education (Fall)
MED 544: Transition & Instruction for Adolescents with Special Needs (Fall)
MED 545: Social Development & Behavior Support (Spring)
MED 605: Enhancing Literacy for Students with Special Needs (Spring)
MED 522: Practicum serving children in after-school programs (Spring - taken with MED 605)
MED 542: Assessment & Instruction of Students with Developmental Disabilities (Summer)
MED 523: Practicum serving children in summer programs (Summer - taken with MED 542)
Online courses could be completed in a year. When courses are completed a six week student teaching experience is arranged as the required culminating activity leading to Pennsylvania certification.
