The Alvernia University Accounting and Finance major provides an opportunity to develop professional skills that enable students to enter the field of management accounting or public accounting. Accounting and Finance is a dynamic profession that provides support for management decision-making and offers a variety of important services to clients. Ultimate professional certification as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a desirable goal.
Baccalaureate Degree

Mathematics: (7 credits)
In addition to meeting the liberal arts core requirement in math, students must complete: MAT 208 or 209.
Specific accounting requirements:
21 credits: BUS 252, 253, 301, 304, 305, 400, 402
Required in Communication: 3 credits
COM 103 or 344.
Required in Business: 18 credits
