Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication


Alvernia’s Bachelor of Arts degree in Corporate Communication equips graduates with a solid background in the liberal arts and the specialized knowledge in business and communications needed to succeed in the field.  

As the world shrinks and our global communications grow in volume and sophistication, the corporate communications professional plays a significant role in business and organizational success. The knowledge, skills and abilities acquired in Alvernia University’s Corporate Communications program are also transferable to a multitude of career settings.

Communications courses are structured to help students:


    > strengthen critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
    > learn both theory and application of message strategy, development and delivery
    > develop effective written and oral skills for professional and personal growth
    > learn principles and applications of modern public relations and advertising
    > analyze the role of mass media in shaping attitudes, values, and behaviors
    > understand the influence of new media
    > enhance interpersonal communication


Through coursework in business and psychology, students:

    > learn how business law applies to transactions and issues

Career Success


Corporate communications graduates have many rewarding career paths open to them in business, government, non-profit organizations, the entertainment field, and sports industry, for example. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of advertising, marketing, promotions, public relations, and sales managers is expected to increase by 12 percent through 2016. The outlook for employment of public relations managers specifically is slightly better —17 percent growth between 2006 and 2016.
