The business department at Alvernia College embraces the Catholic, Franciscan tradition. Therefore, Alvernia's business programs examine the contemporary business world from both practical and ethical standpoints. Opportunities are available for business majors to combine classroom learning with real world knowledge through Cooperative Education Internships. This broad-based approach prepares Alvernia business majors to succeed professionally by developing the supervisory and managerial skills necessary for career advancement. The Alvernia business faculty have solid academic qualifications and years of business experience. They are aware of the latest trends and issues in the business world and incorporate these in their class lectures.

Alvernia offers students several different business paths:

Associates Degree in Accounting or Management (2 years)

Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business (4 years) with concentrations in:
Accounting
Human Resources
Marketing

Sport Management

Some Alvernia business graduates enter MBA and other graduate programs at Alvernia and beyond, while other graduates attain employment with local, state, national, or international companies. Undergraduates who intend to apply to Alvernia's MBA program can get a jump on their graduate degree by taking up to 6 graduate level credits while pursuing their undergraduate degree at Alvernia.
