Dr. Rosemarie C. Chinni
Associate Professor of Forensic Science/Chemistry
Rosemarie C. Chinni holds a doctorate in analytical chemistry from University of South Carolina and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. She is an Associate Professor of Forensic Science/Chemistry at Alvernia University where she teaches primarily analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and physical chemistry I & II; she also serves as the academic advisor to the Science Association and has been involving students in undergraduate research pertaining to analytical chemistry. Some of this research includes testing local lakes and creeks for mercury contamination and studying how laser energy and time parameters affect LIBS results on synthetic silicate samples.
She has also served as a consultant for Applied Research Associate in Albuquerque, NM, where she helped to develop field portable instrumentation for detection of fissile materials. She holds professional memberships in the American Chemical Society and Society for Applied Spectroscopy.
