Bachelor of Arts Degrees

Behavioral Health - Overview

Do you want to make a difference in someone’s life? Are you interested in helping people lead healthier and more productive lives? Behavioral health issues affect a vast number of individuals in today’s society regardless of their age, socioeconomic status, or geographic location.

By enrolling in Alvernia’s Behavioral Health program, you will gain both theoretical and practical training for professional roles in prevention and treatment settings. You can choose to concentrate in one of three areas:  chemical dependency, mental health, or child welfare.

You’ll find our faculty is dedicated to helping you succeed both in the classroom and in the field. Students participate in two field placements, which provide valuable exposure to work environments prior to graduation. Our graduates typically enter counseling, casework, and administrative positions in their chosen area of concentration.

If you want to make a difference by helping people engage in behaviors that lead to better health, Alvernia University is ready to help you reach your goal!
