Three talented new department chairs have been appointed: Sam Bradley, Business; (Sr.) Margaret Ann Dougherty, Education; and Barry Harvey, Criminal Justice. Each of the programs are included in our academic renewal plans to support enrollment growth.

As part of a reorganization of Campus Ministry, headed by our new director, Julianne Wallace, Alumna Cristina Urena has joined the Campus Ministry team as Campus Minister in Residence, while Sr. Philip Ann Yurkonis has joined the group as Sacristan.

The Criminal Justice Department has created an advisory committee comprised of leading professionals in the field to offer review of curriculum and recommend changes based on current practice in the criminal justice field. The committee includes John Adams, Berks County District Attorney; Tim Daley, executive director, Berks Habitat for Humanity; Andres Dominquez, Reading chief of police; Steve Kristovensky, director of security, Hershey Lodge; Tom McDaniel, director of campus safety, Friends’ Central School; Janine Quigley, Berks County jail; Capt. Kristal Turner-Childs, commanding officer, PSP Troop L – Reading; Eric Weaknecht, Berks County sheriff; Robert Williams, chief, Berks County probation department and Nancy Xavious, PA Commission on Sentencing.

About 50 students are participating in our Ignite Student Leadership Development program this fall, now in its third year, with six alumni already graduated.
