Faculty Excellence

Faculty excellence grants for spring 2014 were awarded to Di You for her work on moral judgment intervention studies and to Donna Yarri in support of her upcoming book "God, Darwin, and the Origins of Life."

Several members of Alvernia’s faculty took leading roles in this year’s Literary Festival. In addition to Sue Guay who headed the festival committee, Bongrae Seok presented his latest book “Embodied Moral Psychology & Confucian Philosophy,” Tom Bierowski presented another rendition of his Writers’ Series, Richard Law hosted the annual Inter-College Poetry Contest, and Peter Rampson worked to secure artwork for the Miller Gallery exhibit of graphic artist Chip Kidd.

I am delighted to announce that Bongrae Seok and Janae Scholtz, both members of our philosophy faculty, will be our new Neag Professors. Both have outstanding records as teacher-scholars. Bongrae, a distinguished member of our senior faculty, will begin his term in January; Janae, one of our many talented junior faculty members, will begin her term next July.
