Save federal education funding
Efforts are underway to reduce federal funding for post-secondary education. I strongly encourage all faculty, staff and students to sign a statement calling for the preservation of federal student aid programs, particularly the Pell Grant and student loan programs. By signing an online statement you will be included on an email list that will keep you abreast of our progress and any actions that have been taken. Alvernians of all ages continue to be inspired by our Franciscan values. Now and in the years ahead, lay women and men will be essential leaders in enhancing the university’s distinctive Franciscan identity. To ensure members of the campus community have opportunities to study, reflect on, and live our core values, we have established the Assisi Fund to support expanded mission education efforts, including participation in the Franciscan Pilgrimage Program. We expect to send our first pilgrims to Assisi sometime next fall.Faith traditions
