Alvernia READS

About Alvernia READS

Alvernia READS is a new program at Alvernia run through the Holleran Center for Community Engagement. This program is dedicated to promoting childhood literacy and improving academic achievement among the youth of Reading. Our aim, with the help of the Greater Reading Cops N Kids program, is to get more books into the hands of underprivileged children and provide them with an increased sense of confidence when dealing with their schoolwork.

Alvernia READS is coordinated by an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, Allison Kren. Ali is a recent graduate of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and has a great interest in working with the young people of the City of Reading. Ali's office is located in the Holleran Center in Bernardine Hall, Suite 1105.
