Welcome to the Alvernia University Safety Management webpage. Alvernia University strives to provide a safe and healthy working and living environment for all employees, students, and visitors. The Safety Management team works with all departments to ensure compliance with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and various state and local regulations. Employees are encouraged to work closely with Safety personnel to reduce and prevent safety, health, and environmental hazards.

The mission of the Alvernia University Safety Committee is to promote a safe working environment for each employee by creating and maintaining an active interest in safety in each employee and to assist in the overall effort to minimize the frequency of accidents in the workplace. The goal of the Safety Committee is to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, students, visitors, and the general public as well as to protect the buildings, equipment, grounds, and other property. The Safety Committee is state certified which earns Alvernia University a 5% reduction in worker's compensation insurance costs.
