Masters in Business Administration
Alvernia is a Catholic, Franciscan college dedicated to the ideals of service in the helping professions. Alvernia's graduate programs are designed for the focused working professional who places equal value on intellectual achievement and professional growth. Our faculty and staff are committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting our students in all aspects of their experience at Alvernia, from course selection and scheduling, to connecting with peers and colleagues.

The Master in Business Administration degree prepares students to embrace leadership roles in their current or future career. In addition to developing an understanding of the demanding nature and inter-relationship among the key functional areas of business, the MBA will emphasize managerial skills advancement. Alvernia's Master in Business Administration degree has been designed to offer a firm, comprehensive curriculum taught by faculty with diverse teaching and business experience. Every MBA graduate student will receive personal, one-on-one attention
from the very beginning so their program goals are met within their time frame.

Building upon each student’s foundation of undergraduate business courses, the core courses provide an understanding in foundational business skills, while a choice of electives helps to personalize the MBA to any field. Choice of electives are as follows: Corporate, Criminal Justice, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, and Not-For Profit/Government.

Academic Quality

Students are admitted and are fully accepted when the following criteria have been met:
     •Successful completion of undergraduate coursework
     •Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher
     •Completion of graduate entrance application with supporting documentation
     •Scores submitted from a graduate entrance exam such as the Graduate Record Examination
       (GRE), Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), or the Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
